Important COVID Related News for Students and Families 12/22/21

Dear Voyages Community,
We hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. As you know, this week we've seen a significant increase in positive COVID cases across New York City. It's worrisome, and we've had a number of positive COVID test results for students and staff in the past week.
At this time, students who are not vaccinated and had some contact with staff or students who tested positive have been contacted, and should be quarantined at home through Winter Break, with an expected return date of Monday, January 3rd, 2022. A number of staff are quarantining at home as well. We are hosting remote support this afternoon and tomorrow (12/23/21) afternoon, please join us at 1 PM both today and tomorrow. At this time, our school is NOT closed, and there is no plan for the Department of Education to close our school system.
Please note: the New York City Department of Education may make important announcements over the next few days and over the break. We will be messaging to students and families through this website, KinVO and through student email ( account).
Finally, please, please get vaccinated if you can. Our country's inconsistent vaccination rates is one reason why variants such as Omicron are causing so many new infections. We are happy to explain the science to you, but vaccinations keep all of us safe.
